Embracing 2021 & Leaving 2020 Behind
2020 – What a year! We hope all of your families and loved ones are safe and healthy and that your businesses are still thriving and busy. TVCI is still in business because of the loyalty our clients have shown us, year in and year out. Once again, we thank you for your continued support. 2020 brought a lot of ups and downs, but your support never wavered and, for that, our appreciation is never ending.
As you know, food brings joy to T VCI and our families, and we believe good food brings great people together. As you may recall, we hosted a Taco Tour in 2019, and last year we were dedicated to the best BBQ in San Diego. Prior to the pandemic, TVCI embarked on this culinary excursion across San Diego. We visited Grand Ole BBQ in Flynn Springs, Cali Comfort BBQ in Spring Valley, Corbin’s BBQ and Brew House in San Diego, and Bowlegged B.B.Q., also in San Diego. The BBQ Tour was another success and we look forward to being able to plan another tour soon.
One of the things we are most proud of and looking forward to is continuing work on all of the new cases we have received, especially during the pandemic. As usual, they are diverse in case type, the side of the matter we represent and, above all else, integrity in representation of our clients’ interests.
TVCI finished an extensive repair project in Rancho Santa Fe, thanks to Superintendent Tim Hewett, our stellar subcontractors and our vendors. An attorney and an architect referred the TVCI Team for the repair of their deck, deck rail wall, stucco finish and water resistive assemblies at the entire rear elevation of the home. This repair was following construction related litigation with respect to the original new construction of the home. We provided a proposal, signed a contract and performed the necessary repairs. We are proud of the work, the owners are happy, the project came out beautifully.
In addition, TVCI performed Destructive Testing on 8 projects during the COVID-19 lockdowns and limitations. This was not an easy task, but we persevered and completed the assignments. We tested over 100 units and 70 separate buildings from Ventura to Chula Vista. During these projects, we completed a handful of required deck inspections, referred to as, “CA SB326”. We look forward to more of this support work for our HOA boards in the coming year.
The construction industry has been allowed to work through the lockdowns. Being designated as essential has been a blessing. Though not all of our contacts, vendors and suppliers have been unfettered, we have still been able to continue accomplishing assignments and deadlines as we have in the past.
Please keep us in your thoughts *“Rolodex” and future plans for construction services as we ease our way into 2021.
We pray for those lost or affected by this pandemic and for the continued health of our community.
*Archaic term for Outlook contacts!
